EXCITING NEWSI am super duper excited to be invited to become the member of ‘The Chelsea Art Society’. @chelseaartsociety
A Big Thankyou to the Council ( love the sound of that term. Gives an ancient Roman vibe! ) and everyone who voted for me.
I perhaps won’t be able to express enough in words what this means to me to be welcomed in such a prestigious society that has stood the test of time, survived wars and so many changes through the years and still going strong in its 75th year. Honoured to be part of it.
Last year I was awarded ‘The Cadogan Award’ at the CAS Annual Summer Show ( which I couldnot attend ) and to those who know the amazing speech Lord Cadogan gave, at the private awards function, had left everyone speechless. He mentioned how in a bizarre coincidence, him and me both, had lost our Dads that same Sunday and so we both had to do our individual duties and be at places where we were expected. It was a bitter sweet celebration.
There are many many memories associated with this wonderful society and that’s why this will always be special.
I will be an Associate Member for a year and I am looking forward to being part of its Annual Autumn show in November now, where I will be showing paintings alongside the wonderful members. It’s been a privilege and an honour and I can’t wait to start my new journey as a member soon.
