Pumpkin Flowers
£375.00
Oil on board, 10” x 12”, 2020
Painted during lockdown in my pumpkin patch. Pumpkin flowers stay abloom for a very short time of the day, 5-6 hours in the morning. It is in these few hours that the busy bees and insects pollinate the flowers. I too painted this pumpkin vine in that small window when the flowers stayed bloom in the mornings trying to capture the morning sun falling on them. Oh how I did feel the same pressure just like those pollinating bees to finish the painting before the flowers decided to close themselves up!
