CADOGAN AWARD: Chelsea Art Society 2023

So honoured to have been awarded the prestigious ‘The Cadogan Award for Culture in the Chelsea Community’ for my painting ‘Prince Albert Bridge, Rainy Day at the Chelsea Art Society summer show 2023
It has been my dream for sometime, to one day be recognised by such a wonderful society like CAS and I cannot be more thankful to the judges and Cadogan for showing that love to my little painting and my work.
‘Dad this is for you’ – I will miss sharing my little achievements with you.
Thankyou to CAS organisers who put so much effort year after year in making this show such a success.
Sadly I couldn’t make it to the Private Viewing and Awards ceremony, but as my dad (who’s no more with me today), too believed that ‘THE SHOW MUST GO ON’ and so my loving and supportive wife Ruchi accepted the award on my behalf by the Mayor of Chelsea.
Before the PV there was another special evening organised to meet and greet Lord Cadogan who chose my painting for the award. It was wonderful to listen to his speech as to why he chose my painting to which he could connect emotionally and artistically so well. He very kindly mentioned my absence from the evening as I was in India dealing with the loss of my father and very surreal when he mentioned that he too lost his father Lord Charles Cadogan, 8th Earl Cadogan, exactly on the same day just few days ago on that Sunday.
Congratulations to Alice Hall, the director of CAS for organising such a successful show.
Looks like it was a brilliant evening and I missed seeing so many of my artists friends who were showing their works there too.
Thankyou to everyone who has been part of this journey and have always supported my work.
The 74 th annual show continues until Monday 19 June at:
Chelsea Old Town hall,
Kings Road,
SW3 – open daily 10am-6pm ( Monday 2pm)
