Painting the ‘Royal Horse Guards’

I had such a great pleasure of meeting the ‘Royal Horse Guard’ today and ‘Quattro’- the horse, both of them I painted last week at the Whitehall Household Cavalry for the ‘Friends of ROI’ event led by Rob Pointon.

I was pleasantly surprised when contacted with the interest in the painting and very glad now that the painting will be in the family heirloom of the Horse Guard where it probably deserves to be the most.

I also spent some time with the handsome Quattro and fed him some apples! Those horses are much bigger than you imagine them to be. Wonderful to get a brief tour in the Royal stables and meet other horse guards!

The otherwise gloomy day just brightened up!!
